This release includes several improvements and bug fixes to enhance your experience.
New Features
- Improved Media Capture: Enhanced media capture reliability with a backup process to safeguard photos and videos. You'll receive clear error notifications if capture or backup fails.
- Bulleted List Tag Display: A new "Bulleted List" display option for observation tags is available for desktop, mobile, and report templates, providing a more organized view of tags.
- Add Review Comments to Flagged Issues: You can now add optional review comments when marking an observation as needing review. These comments are displayed in both desktop and mobile apps.
- Improved Field Connection: A new "Connect to fields" modal makes linking field values to observations much easier, accessible via a toolbar button or keyboard shortcut (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+F).
- Enhanced Tag Management: Drag-and-drop reordering is now available for tags in tag group settings, along with an updated color picker for enhanced tag management.
- Faster Camera Responsiveness: The shutter button unlocks and the camera reinitializes immediately after capturing an image, allowing for quicker subsequent shots.
Enhancements
- Improved Media Selection: Updated the media selection UI for a more consistent experience. Clearer visual cues are now provided for hidden media items.
- Tag Group Visibility: Tag group visibility and rendering now adapts based on entry type.
- Improved Tag Editing: Enhanced tag editing with streamlined controls and immediate visual updates. Tags are now displayed in the order they are listed.
Bug Fixes
- Improved Update Handling: Fixed an issue where pending updates were not being applied correctly, leading to data inconsistencies.
- Rich Text Editor Stability: Improved rich text editor stability on mobile.
- Tag Formatting: Fixed formatting of tag lists to correctly display "and" only when appropriate (including Oxford commas).
- Color Picker Reliability: Improved handling of color picker interactions in tag group settings to prevent accidental closing.
- Media Selection Focus: Fixed an issue where selection and focus states for media items were not handled independently.
- Chapter Section Processing: Improved handling of chapter sections to prevent unnecessary updates for sections without categories.
- Template Copying: Fixed issues with template copying when using optimized storage.
- Gallery Synchronization: Added guardrails around media disappearing from the gallery when two devices sync.
Removals
- In-app Changelog Screens: Removed internal “What’s New” screens and changelog files from mobile and desktop apps. The changelog is now available on a separate website.
